Salary from £37,500 depending on experience, pension, 25 days holiday + 8 bank holiday
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Research Scientist with Project Lead experience within the Functional Materials/Coatings field. Working within our client’s state of the art Rochdale Technical Centre, you will be helping to drive forward the world’s largest producer of printing inks, pigments and functional coatings, leading research and development projects with teams of up to 2 people, giving you an exciting opportunity to for someone who is looking to move into a supervisory role.
The role
Reporting to the Technology Lead you will play a hands-on role in developing and driving the functional materials technology within the client's business, keeping them at the driving edge of this technology, working with both internal stakeholders and the customer. This is a good opportunity for a candidate with a broad technical knowledge who wants to project manage and problem solve using skills already gained in their current role
What you’ll need
The successful candidate will have the following background:
• Good technical knowledge and extensive experience of working within the coatings or polymers industry, including a fundamental understanding of formulating principles behind inks and coatings
• Educated to degree level in Chemistry, Physics or relevant science subject
• A proven track record in successful delivery of projects
• A good understanding of printing and application technology
• Previous experience of working technical problems including fault finding, testing, analysis and resolution
• The provision of detailed professional/expert/technical advice in order to resolve issues
• Experience of working with Cross Functional teams
