Our client is looking to recruit a Hatchery Operative to be based in Ower Hatchery, Romsey.

The successful Hatchery Operative will have the following Main Duties:
- Placement of hatching eggs into the incubators
- Assisting in the effective transfer of eggs from the incubators to the hatchers
- During chick take off ensuring that chicks are taken off and sorted into the required grades, in the required quantities ready for delivery
- Liaising with the other Operators, Supervisors and Hatchery Managers
- Ensuring you work within the Company Health & Safety, Bio-Security and Chick Welfare standards
- Ensuring that the Hatchery equipment is cleaned to a high standard after use
- The hours of work for this role are Monday to Saturday from 6:00 till 14:00 (5 days out of 6) working on a revolving rota.
The Key Skills & Experience will include:
- The role is physically demanding and involves lifting chick boxes of 15 kgs.
- The successful candidate will be flexible, hard working and have the ability to work in a small team.
- Previous experience within a poultry environment is desirable, however full training will be provided.
- Candidates must have their own transport to travel to Hatchery as local public transport is not available and must not keep any avian species (Birds).
