Residential Childcare Worker

We have an excellent opportunity to join a well established and unique children's service in the Taunton area, providing specialist therapeutic care in a residential setting.
You will be supporting children & young people between the age of 8 to 18 year olds who have experienced trauma or abuse in their lives, and may show signs of EBD, attachment disorders, complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Your role will involve providing a positive role model figure for the young people, and to act as a professional parent. Duties may include:
-Offering therapeutic / emotional support
-Link work
-Supporting young people in education
-Encouraging young people to participate in activities and access opportunities
-Making the home a safe, stable, homely environment
-Managing challenging behaviours
Salary will be between GBP16,000 - GBP19,000, plus up to GBP2500 for sleep in payments. You will work to a 24 hour shift pattern on a 3 week rolling rotas. Benefits include:

To apply for this role you will need:
-At least 1 year's experience in a children's residential setting with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
-A full UK driving licence
-Ideally a relevant qualification in Child Care / Children and Young People's Workforce or similar , however not essential if you have strong experience, as you will be supported to achieve your QCF Level 3
