This is a fantastic opportunity for an H&S Co-ordinator/Trainee to develop and grow further key skills within a fast paced multi utilities environment on a permanent basis.

You will be working on behalf of a well-established multi utility organisation based in Milnrow, Rochdale with projects varying nationally in location, reporting directly to the H&S Manager, working closely within the H&S team.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assist the H&S Manager in the development & implementation of policies and procedures
- Assist in the development of the Health & Safety Management System in accordance with OHSAS 18001
- Carry out site safety inspections & audits producing informative reports
- Assist the H&S Team in the production of method statements and risk assessments
- Advise & support all employees of their statutory duties within their areas of responsibility
- Work closely with site personnel & the H&S Manager to investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrence and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing recommendations for continual improvement
- Assist in the collation of evidence in accordance with associated external verifiers (ISO; NERS; WIRS; GIRS; CHAS etc)
- Continually review & update COSHH assessments
- Assist the H&S Manager in maintaining the Legal Compliance Register in line with industry requirements
- Delivering H&S inductions in-house and on site
- Collating & maintaining appropriate H&S records producing reports where required
- Pro-actively raise awareness of H&S throughout the organisation
- Undertake any other such duties deemed necessary within the department
- Provide input into the implementation of H&S business plan
- Communicate H&S matters / information internally

To be considered for the role you must have:

- Minimum NEBOSH Gen certificate or equivalent
- "A" level standard in Maths and English
- Previous utilities experience is essential in at least one of the following: Gas, Water, Elec with the ability to understand utility and construction drawings
- A good working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations
- Experience managing or supporting in a H&S function
- Strong people skills, ability to engage at all organisational levels
- Highly organised with strong administration skills & excellent computer skills, minimum MS Office
- Driving licence, willing to undertake scheduled business travel nationally
- ISO 14001 & OHAS 18001 system experience
- Previous training experience as trainer or in a strong supporting role would be an advantage
- Able to work in a standalone role & as a member of the team
- Previous knowledge of WIRS, NERS, GIRS would be an advantage
