Food Safety Manager - Birds (Derby) Limited

Established in 1919, Birds is a family owned manufacturer and retailer of bread, confectionery and savoury products with 57 shops throughout the East Midlands and a bakery in Derby.

Reporting to our Bakery Operations Manager, the Food Safety Manager is responsible for developing, revising and implementing food safety standards and policies throughout the organisation, that ensure we maintain our high levels of customer satisfaction and consistently meet the exacting business standards for quality and freshness. 

The Food Safety Manager will continue to develop, train and enhance the existing embedded culture of food safety throughout the business.

Our preferred candidate should hold a qualification in a relevant food science/technology subject at, ideally, diploma or degree level, whilst in addition being able to demonstrate profound food safety knowledge and practical experience.

We are looking for someone who constantly reviews legislation and will ensure our continued compliance, who  will be the lead Company representative for external auditors such as EHO and who has an in-depth knowledge of HACCP, Food Hygiene procedures and nutritionals.  The Food Safety Manager will track and analyse relevant customer feedback trends.
