Research Area Manager - Cancer - About the role:

About the role

The Research Area Manager for cancer will be based in Abcam's headquarters in Cambridge, UK, and will work closely with scientists, collaborators and multiple teams across the company. They will identify the best products to meet current and future needs of cancer research scientists and lead the strategy to communicate with scientists about our cancer products.

In this role, we will give you an unparalleled opportunity to take your cancer knowledge beyond the bench. You will learn how to write material for our website, how to manage projects in industry, and how to build a long-term strategy for research reagent development and launch. We will teach you a great deal about how industry is organised and how great antibodies are made to meet the needs of scientists across the world.

The Research Area Management team brings together subject matter experts in key areas of research. We are a dynamic and hard-working team who work with many colleagues from across the Company and collaborators outside the company to deliver our mission.

About you

Are you a highly motivated post-doc looking to move into industry?

We are looking for someone with an excellent background in the challenges of cancer research, a strong commercial awareness, and an extensive network of contacts from the research field to join us and further develop our cancer product ranges.

You will spend your time applying your expertise in cancer research to our product development process and creating useful content for our events, our website information pages, and our emails. You will collaborate with researchers at the bench to ensure our cancer reagents meet the needs of researchers worldwide and to identify the "next big thing" for cancer reagents.
