Credit Controller

Position: Credit Controller
Location: Knutsford, Cheshire
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

The Credit Controller Role:
As the Credit Controller, you will be solely responsible for the credit control function for UK and Worldwide based customers. The ideal candidate will have a positive, enthusiastic and eager attitude with a determination to prove their abilities in a demanding role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconciliation and management of accounts ensuring adherence to credit terms
• Maintain close and effective links with the customers, dealing with queries and ensuring payments are made on time
• Stopping the supply of goods if customer goes over their credit limit, stop paying, or pay late
• Checking customer’s credit ratings, deciding whether or not to offer the credit in liaison with the F.D.
• Dealing with internal queries about customers
• Instigate legal action to collect monies owed if necessary
• UK and Export invoice reconciliation
• Dealing with international payments, currencies and export documentation
• Raise & process credit requests/discount requests
• Allocating received payments (sterling and foreign receipts)
• Reconciling the Sales Ledger together with the sales accounts in the nominal ledger

Skills & Experience Required:

• A good understanding of accounting principles
• Experience of foreign currency transactions
• Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels
• Ability to work calmly whilst under pressure
• Be able to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
• Be self-motivated and display initiative
• have exceptional time management and strong software skills
• Experience or understanding of documentary letters of credit and Inco terms
