The Role
Our client is looking for a male support worker to work with a 32 year old male client who has a brain injury.
This client requires encouragement to enable him to participate in regular activities such as going to the gym, shopping, meal preparation, and other leisure activities. This client lives independently in a spacious and well maintained property in Northampton.
This client has a great sense of humour and is keen to develop his independence with the skilled input of a support worker. There is currently one other support worker employed who is looking forward to working with you.
Training and ongoing supervision is provided.
About you
Experience of working with people who have sustained brain injuries is essential. Confidence and skills in assisting challenging clients to manage their emotions and process information is also required along with an interest in keeping fit and sports.
Pay rates per hour & hours required
Shifts available are as follows:-
Wednesday night 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm - £13 for the first 6 months and then £15 an hour.
Sleeping night 11.00 pm to 9.00 am - £50.
Thursday 9.00 am to 9.00 pm - £13 for the first 6 months and then £15 an hour.
Essential skills and experience:
- Full Driving licence to drive in the UK
- You should be willing to help with any domestic tasks that may be required.
- Confident working in client's home and sensitive to their needs and wishes
- Happy to learn new things in accordance with the client's programme
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and privacy
- Confident and prepared to listen and learn new things
- Patient, tolerant and with a responsible attitude
- Ability to work under own initiative show creativity
- Excellent planning skills and able to 'risk assess' activities
- Excellent communication, social, literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent spoken English.
- Reliable, trustworthy with a good sense of humour
- Organised and an excellent time keeper.
