The company is a creative hub for innovative education software. Based in Liverpool, their circus-themed offices delight staff and visitors with a ball pool, caravan, popcorn machine and grandstand. Their web-based software is used by every local authority in England, as well as thousands of schools and children's centres, nationwide and beyond.

As HR Manager, you'll play a key role in staff happiness, recruitment and retention, as well as ensuring that the company maintains its core values and ethos as it grows.

Working closely with the Directors and the Office Manager, you will be responsible for HR across the company. You'll have the chance to shape this new role, and will be able to have a positive impact on every staff member, from the most junior through to the CEO.

You'll need to have a proven track record, with at least CIPD Level 5, and be able to get up and running quickly. As well as bringing your experience and professionalism, the company expects you to understand their ethos, and be able to adapt all policies and working practices to demonstrate the 'human side' of HR. Please note: The company requires all employees to take a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to the sensitivity of data they work with.

Skills

- Relevant experience within Human Resources
- CIPD qualified - Level 5 or above
- Strong understanding of employment law
- Superb communication skills honed in business partnering or advisory roles
- Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the executive team
- Ability to represent HR as part of the bigger business picture
- Confident in directing HR and advising managers on all aspects of HR
- Experience in managing redundancy or other relevant HR projects
- Able to deliver high employee satisfaction, appropriate development and reward for individuals

Areas Of Responsibility:

- Policies, procedures & processes: You'll be in charge of updating existing, and implementing new HR policies, procedures and processes.
- Recruitment: You'll oversee all aspects of the hiring process, including campaigns, job offers, DBS checks and references
- Induction: You'll develop and oversee all aspects of induction and onboarding processes.
- Learning & Development: You'll assist with the training and development agenda across the business, identifying areas that need improvement
- Supporting Managers: You'll provide guidance on how to develop managers and their teams.
- Employee Relations: You would be responsible for managing employee absences, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness, alongside line managers.
- Employee Happiness: You'll measure and interpret employee satisfaction periodically
- Performance Management: You'll oversee the PM process at the Company, including assisting with regular reviews and one-to-ones, and coaching managers
- General HR: Making the most of our internal HR system, evidencing decision making and ensuring company benefits are maintained and honoured
