Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, our client is a further education college that offers a wide range of courses including Full-Time, Part-Time, Apprenticeships and University Level. They aim to give all students an exceptional experience and believe in excellence and back that up with high standards, real working environments and great teaching.

They also believe that attending college is about more than achieving a qualification, important though that is. That is why they aim to give every person the opportunity to develop their full potential in a supportive and friendly environment.

Joining our client as a Teacher in Carpentry and Joinery, you will provide high quality teaching and learning and pastoral support for students.

Planning and delivering teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles, you must develop learning resources/materials to meet individual learner needs and assess student progress in College or on work experience; devising assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets. Acting as a personal tutor and liaising regularly with parents on learner progress, you will provide student advice, support, and induction and maintain records that support the learning experience and evidence levels of support provided.

They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated individual, with a relevant level 3 qualification or relevant NVQ at level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (Bench and / or site) coupled with a Cert Ed / PGCE / Bachelor of Education and recent / relevant industrial / examining experience.

The ability to devise and deliver learning opportunities to meet group and individual needs and demonstrate experience of teaching using a range of teaching and learning methods that engenders an enthusiasm for learning is essential.
