Kronospan has an exciting opportunity for a Residues / Recycled Timber Buyer to join the team based in Chirk, North Wales. This is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary.

At Kronospan we pride ourselves on delivering “Wood Perfected” and have invested in innovation since 1897 and no more so than now. As a result we are seeking a Residues / Recycled Timber Buyer who can add real value to the Timber Buying team.

Key Responsibilities of the Residues / Recycled Timber Buyer

- To purchase sawmill residue and recycled fibre raw material at the most commercially attractive terms for Kronospan & ensure that it is delivered & processed with the minimum of cost & effort to the business

- Purchase of B Grade recycled timber

- Purchase of Sawmill Co-products

- Concluding successful commercial negotiations

- Improving the quality of material being delivered to the site

- Developing & strengthening our existing supplier and haulier base to sustain long-term supply at the best possible cost

- Implementing a packaging content audit trial for our recycled suppliers to follow, thus protecting Kronospan‘s ability to trade packaging recycling notes

- Maintain and manage Kronospan's FSC chain of custody responsibilities for bought in timber

- Matching the delivery of raw materials to their usage, and taking an involvement with the issues of storing & processing these materials

- Controlling & monitoring our moisture downgrading procedures

- Complete month end stock take

- Provide assistance and cover in the absence of the Timber Procurement Executive

Residues / Recycled Timber Buyer Requirements

- Ideally 5 years plus experience within Timber Procurement, however will consider candidates with a purchasing background in recycled materials or other commodities.

- Demonstrated commercial negotiation skills

- Strong Microsoft Office Skills

- Full UK driving licence
