We are currently seeking a Newly Qualified ACA or ACCA candidate for a client based in Plymouth.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in an accountancy practice ACA or ACCA qualified within the last 2 years and will have good GCSE and (if studied) AS/A2 grades. Working knowledge of Accounting Standards and auditing of private companies an advantage.
We are looking for somebody with a positive "can-do" attitude. You will take on responsibility for given assignments, driving them forward to completion whilst working towards an agreed budget and timescale. You will have the ability to develop relationships with colleagues and clients alike and have good communication skills. You will also be responsible for dealing with client queries, reporting directly to manager and or partner where applicable.
You will oversee the bookkeeping and preparation of management accounts for a range of different businesses including Leisure, Service providers, Retail and Wholesalers. In this business area, turnover ranges from GBP80k to GBP3m. Experience of balance sheet reconciliation including bank reconciliation, VAT,PAYE etc, review of VAT returns and VAT schemes required, experience in partial exemption an advantage.
Also responsible for directing and supervising junior team members, managing deadlines for VAT returns and management accounts.
Hours will be 37.50 hours per week 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
