What will the role of Depot Manager entail?

Reporting to the Area Delivery Manager, as the Depot Manager you will be accountable for managing all of the depot personnel, HSEQ, and operations including light maintenance activities and heavy maintenance projects (including classified repair, overhaul and refurbishment projects).

As an enthusiastic and committed individual you will lead and inspire the Depot Management team to optimize the facility and deliver company efficiency and profitability, by ensuring trains are delivered to customers on time and to ever challenging standards.

What will I need to be considered for this Depot Manager role?

  • Extensive background in mechanical / electrical engineering
  • Strong knowledge of rolling stock, plant and machinery coupled with production operating systems, and financial and contract management systems
  • Motivational leadership qualities with excellent people management skills
  • Confidence to deal with employee relations and have an awareness of statutory employment law
  • Self-motivation with a professional outlook and attitude
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement to look beyond the day to day for improvements
  • Superb communication and decision making skills
  • Ability to act as a facilitator during a period of rapid culture change
  • Full UK driving licence

A professional qualification in Engineering would be ideal, although not essential.

What will I receive in return?

Salary:                         £50,000 per annum plus performance bonus

Working Hours:            Nominally day shifts, 37.5 hours per week (will be required to work nights as and when required)
