Hours of work: 21 hours per week, you will be required to work every other weekend.

Salary: £7.71 per hour

Our client is a charitable organisation that provides a range of flexible individualised care and support services for people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and older people.

Enhancements paid at 10% of the hourly rate for Sunday and Bank Holiday hours worked.

They have an opportunity for a talented cook to join their friendly, dedicated kitchen team. Nutrition is an important element of the care package that they provide. You will plan, prepare, cook and serve all their lunches, ensuring that a healthy and balanced menu is provided and that particular dietary and cultural needs and preferences are met. You will accommodate and respect the individual needs of service users in line with both their care plans and personal preferences. You will get to know the service users and build relationships with them along with their families.

You will need to have previous experience as a cook, knowledge of food and hygiene as well as health and safety including COSHH regulations and of course the ability to organise a busy kitchen. It would be beneficial if you have had previous line managerial responsibilities. You will also need to possess good written and verbal communication skills.

The Chestnuts is a modern, purpose built registered care home in Aylesbury for 64 older people. The home is able to accommodate and support up to 32 residents with a higher level of support need, specifically those living with dementia. Residents at The Chestnuts enjoy a welcoming and social environment where they can choose to participate in a range of activities and events.
