Robert Half are working a key partner who are going through a significant transformation. The Applications Management Service covers support and development and the purpose of the role is to ensure that all Applications covered by the Service are delivered to consistently high standard.



The Head of Applications is responsible for the operational aspects needed for the applications to function as required by the business and has responsibility for the design, testing and improvement of applications that form part of project portfolio. Naturally as a Leader, you will be accountable for the applications team, stakeholder management, supplier management and risk management.

Key Responsibilities


Accountable for Applications Management Service Delivery across all in scope systems

Owns the Application Management Service and ensures it remains fit for purpose

Ensures all Incidents and Service Requests are addressed within a timely manner in line with SLAs

Ensuring that BAU service activities and disciplines (including License Management, Capacity Management, & Problem Management) are followed

Maintaining roadmaps and release schedules for all applications and ensure that applications remain 'evergreen' in line with IT Strategy

Working with Business Owners to ensure that roadmaps are aligned with business strategies.

Responsible for ensuring that best practice development, configuration and system management processes and controls are adopted and maintained across the department

Financial control and management of budgets

Responsible for the management of any 3rd party providers involved in the provision of software or services including the setting of and delivery against SLAs and KPIs as well as the

Key Skills and Experience Required



Expert knowledge and managing SAP in a large organisation

Must be using SAP in current/ most recent role

Experience of managing 2 other big applications such as Maximo

A background in and significant experience of Applications Development and Support

Experience working with 3rd party service providers in different delivery models, complex landscapes and extended supply chains

A strong ITIL Background and experience of applying the ITIL disciplines in Application Delivery Management

Experience of managing in a high-pressure IT Production Services Environment.

Business planning experience including preparation of budgets, financial reporting, financial modelling, creating fully costed business cases and accompanying presentations
