UPS Service Engineer
GBP30,000 to GBP35,000 basic plus overtime, bonus, company car, pension and additional benefits package
Based - M4 Corridor, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Avon, Surrey
As a UPS Service Engineer, your duties will include:
- electrical and electronic engineering breakdown repair of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS),
- planned maintenance (PPM) and fault finding and repair to component level on analogue and digital electrical and electronic uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power quality and related standby power equipment.
- commissioning and troubleshooting of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
- working from home and visiting customer sites and providing good customer service
Key skills involved are:
- Three phase electrical installation, maintenance and repair;
- Good understanding of switch panels and power distribution
- Ability to interpret and understand system connection drawings
- experienced in power electronics faultfinding and repair - ideally with UPS, although similar equipment such as AC inverter drives; switch mode power supplies, induction heaters / induction welders, frequency converters, PLC controls, MCCs, HMIs, industrial automation and communications
- previous field service experience or relevant background i.e. Armed Forces (Royal Engineers / REME etc) or within a similar electrical / electronic repair and servicing background.
