Grants Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced trusts/foundations fundraiser to take on the new role of Grants Manager based in Doncaster.
The post holder will have a significant impact on the sustainability and resilience of the charity’s services for young people.
This is a small organisation of twenty paid staff and around ten volunteers. Together, they operate a 24/7 accommodation project for young people, a community building with recreational facilities, meeting rooms for hire and a charity shop. The employer’s present work takes place on their site on Wood Street at the edge of Doncaster’s town centre.
Current turnover is around £550,000, with funding coming from a range of sources. The employer is part of an international movement but is an independent charity and is directly accountable to the housing and charity regulators. They are governed by a board of local trustees who meet around eight times a year.
The Grants Managers’ role:
This employer is an independent registered charity and registered provider of social housing, based in Doncaster. Focusing on work with young adults aged 16-25, particularly those who have experienced difficulties with housing and homelessness. They provide supported accommodation for young people which is staffed 24 hours a day throughout the year. There are 30 rooms and clients are able to stay with the project for up to two years. During that time, support focuses on building independent living skills and preparing for a stable adult life.
In addition the employer has Community Centre rooms available for hire by other organisations. Those vary from small community groups to business meetings and training sessions.
A Charity Shop, owned and operated by the employer can be found on the ground floor of the Community Centre.
In return you will receive a salary of £30.000 pa

The Grants Managers’ role:
- You will report directly to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for working delegated ideas into fundable project profiles, each with a clear and compelling case for support.
- You will take on an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, matching their interests with our planned projects.
- Tender applications and the securing of loan finance are likely to feature from time to time.
- The role requires a track record of success in securing five and six figure bids, and the ability to be self motivated and self-supporting.
- You will have a keen focus on detail, significant experience in a relevant role and the ability to combine your expertise with an interest in the Vision and Values of the employer and the young people they work with and for.
- Significant experience in a relevant role
