After School Activity Teacher
Small Heath, B10
£28 per hour
Minimum 3 hours per week (after school hours)
Are you fun, energetic and love working with children? Are you looking for flexible, locally based part time work?
Our client has identified an exciting opportunity for a After School Activity Teacher to join their unique and forward thinking business. They aim to encourage children’s problem solving skills, instil creativity and prepare children for future technical innovations.
This is a temporary term time position however the opportunity for a permanent position may be available for the right candidate.
The role
As After School Activity Teacher, you will be running educational, hands on after school clubs for children. You will be provided with all equipment for the session along with online video tutorials on how to construct the projects. During the session, you will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
• Setting up and introducing the project in a positive and exciting manner
• Briefly explaining the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) principles involved in the project (this information will be supplied on the session plan)
• Demonstrating how to construct the project
• Listening and talking to individual children, helping and guiding them through the project
• Retaining a sense of humour in times of chaos!
• Listening to parents and welcome newcomers
About you
• Previous experience of working with children
• Teaching qualification OR STEM (science, technology, engineering or maths) qualification
• Energy and enthusiasm
• Reliable
• Driving Licence and Car
The successful candidate should be DBS checked, if you are not the company will arrange and pay for this.
