Freight Forwarding Trainee Required in Commercial Department

The Company:

Banks and Lloyd Shipping Ltd, established for over 35 years and, based in centre of Wilmslow, Cheshire. Dealing in sea imports, exports and x-trades, airfreight, rail and road movements. Very busy team of Commercial rate negotiators/administrators.

Freight Forwarding Trainee - The Job:

• Introduction to the world of freight forwarding
• Dealing with containerised sea imports from Europe and beyond, liaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers etc and providing a customer centred service

Subjects covered include:

• Rate structures for short sea and deep sea shipment
• Recording of rates on in house Access based programs
• Rates negotiation with suppliers and customers
• Researching new trade lanes and commodities

On the job and one to one training provided on a continuous basis
Salary: £16,000 - £18,000 per Annum, Negotiable

The Person:

• Willingness to learn and work hard on own or as part of a team
• Ability to work with very high level of accuracy
• Strong customer service focussed attitude
• Ability to prioritise time-sensitive workload and demonstrate attention to detail
• Experience in Microsoft Office Applications an advantage
