This company is one of the market leaders in the service, repair, maintenance and installation of all kinds of industrial doors, barriers and gates. The company is based in the Midlands area, operating out of four locations and has been in business since 1974. Working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00 to 17.00 hours.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, hands-on Depot Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the smooth running of their depot based in Rugby, Warwickshire. The depot has a storage warehouse, a small but competent administration team and runs five teams of field service engineers who cover a radius of approximately 40 miles from their Rugby depot on a daily basis.

Your main responsibilities as Depot Manager, will be:
- Efficient and effective management of depot staff, working in conjunction with the depot administration team who do the majority of the scheduling, working under your direction
- Compiling and dictating quotations, either from engineers' paperwork or from visiting their customers' sites to discuss and understand their requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with regards to health and safety in the workplace.
- Leading and motivating staff.
- Daily involvement in the commercial aspects of the business, investigating and resolving customer complaints or internal depot issues.
- Ordering of parts and equipment.

As Depot Manager, the role requires a good level of people skills, the ability to learn and master their administration software package, with a background that will include past experience in a mechanical or technical role, as you will require the aptitude to have an understanding of how their product range is installed and generally operates in order to quote its repair/installation successfully.

Skills/qualifications required:
- Previous experience of people management.
- Good communicator both face to face and over the telephone.
- Ability to demonstrate a mechanical/technical understanding, not necessarily of their product range, but the ability to be able to learn and understand the basics of it.
- A logical and tidy approach to your own workload and ensuring these same standards are met by others.
- Health and safety knowledge would be an advantage, although training can be given.
- Ability to master and use software package.
