Date Palm Project

37.5hrs per week

The Date Palm Project's purpose is to give young Muslim men who are leaving prison the opportunity and the means to change the direction of their lives. They are supported in a faith sensitive environment and given an opportunity to leave behind their offending history and pursue their ambitions.

The aim of the Date Palm Project is to provide a powerful combination of housing, employment and support for young Muslims leaving prison to reduce the chances of re-offending and transform their lives.


The Company is looking to recruit a motivated and dedicated project worker to join the service.

Your role will involve undertaking key working activities such as referrals/interviews/booking in clients and housing management activities such as finances, resettlement, health and wellbeing. You will also assist our clients to develop and care for themselves by providing advice and guidance on personal development and relevant life skills.

To succeed, you will either have personal experience of homelessness or a sound understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people. You should also possess good interpersonal and listening skills; in order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients and an eagerness to learn and work with clients in a holistic and client-centred approach. Good numeracy, IT and written communication skills are also required.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota.
