Travelling Mechanic / MOT Tester
Are you a Vehicle Technician or MOT tester, fully qualified to Level 3 or with extensive experience?
Are you available to travel throughout the UK earning GBP18- GBP20 per hour?

Autotech Recruit are looking for fully qualified and/or experienced Vehicle Technicians and MOT Testers to cover short and long term contracts, travelling across the UK.
Who You Are
Whether you're self- employed, a limited business, freelance, semi-retired, a sole trader or just looking for alternative work with the flexibility and variety of working in different places- we have contract work to suit you!
You must be available to travel up and down the country, potentially staying away in accommodation (or maybe you have your own caravan!). If you are not able to travel, then we do have more localised positions available.
Skills & Responsibilities
The great thing about our contract technician work is that you will only do work such as PDI's, servicing, sales prep and MOT failure repairs. We don't have our contractors getting involved with any heavier mechanical work.
Our contract MOT Testers conduct MOT tests, simple and straightforward.
Whatever work you do for Autotech Recruit, it is essential that you are competent and highly skilled in your field. You should have the knowledge and understanding required to carry out the role effectively, efficiently and safely, ensuring a high level of productivity is achieved.
Experience & Qualifications
We understand that there are many of you out there that have extensive technical and MOT Testing experience having been in the trade years, maybe without qualifications. If this is the case, we want to hear from you.
Otherwise, we do require you to be Level 3 qualified and have at least 5 years' experience in a workshop environment.
MOT Testers must have an active, clean licence and passed the annual assessment.
This role requires applicants to have a full driving license, their own vehicle and tools that are transportable.
Working Hours
Although we cannot guarantee work due to the nature of contracting, we can guarantee a minimum of 8 hours a day between the hours of 8am and 6pm for any work you are booked on.
Salary & Expenses
If you are willing to accept any job given to you wherever it may be in the UK and will happily travel or stay in accommodation, then we will pay you GBP18 per hour.
After you have worked away for us for 4 weeks at a time, we will pay you GBP20 per hour for the next week's work as a loyalty bonus.
If you are a Limited Business, expenses are covered in your end of year return.
If you are not a Limited Business, we pay you via a payment company meaning you will be entitled to offset expenses, giving you a tax relief of up to 45p per mile for fuel, hotel costs and up to GBP10 a day on food.
