ACCOUNTANCY AND INSURANCE ASSISTANT
GO SHARED SERVICES
Based in Cheltenham
£17,280 - £21,044 per annum
Plus 2% Shared Service Allowance
37 hours per week
GO Shared Services provides finance, human resources, payroll, health and safety, learning and development and procurement services to a number of local authorities and partners, namely Cheltenham Borough Council, Cotswold District Council, Forest of Dean District Council, West Oxfordshire District Council, Cheltenham Borough Homes Ltd and Ubico Ltd. The service has a vacancy for an Accountancy and Insurance Assistant, based at the Cheltenham Borough Council offices, in the Municipal Offices, Cheltenham.
As an Accountancy and Insurance Assistant you will support the insurance and treasury finance team based in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will report to the Insurance Officer and assist with claims handling and insurance administration for the GO Shared Services.
The role also provides support to the treasury management team with the daily cash flow management for the Councils.
In addition, you would be expected to support the finance team in other tasks such as reconciling payments received, clearing suspense accounts and general journal entry work. Ideally, candidates will be proactive and self-motivated with some experience of working in a financial environment.
A high level of IT skills (particularly MS Excel) is required and candidates must have a good eye for detail, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
