The Transfer Station Yard Operative duties and key responsibilities:

- Undertake yard duties to meet the customer and business needs 

- Ensuring hauliers comply with Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures 

- Waste movement, incoming and outgoing material supervision, material loading

- Liaise with staff to ensure procedures and processes are followed

- Manually sort waste to ensure that all waste is sufficiently separated to the levels agreed

- Maximise opportunities for increasing sales, reducing costs and implement improvements

- Attend meetings and group discussions where required

To become our Transfer Station Yard Operative you must have the following skills, experience and attributes:

- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload

- Competence in the use of forklift trucks and loading shovels is beneficial, but not essential

- Have a suitable fitness level to conduct work appropriately

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills, solving problems at source

- Sufficiently mobile and flexible to work beyond the call of duty to achieve results

- Excellent organisation skills and good time management
