Production Engineer NPI (Precision Machining)
Ilminster, Somerset
GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 Per annum + Benefits Package
Production Engineer sought as part of an expansion within a global precision component manufacturer.
The role will suit engineers that have come from a precision component manufacturing background. A good knowledge of at least one of the following, Mazak mills and lathes, Okuma mills and lathes, Hitachi and Fanuc controls, although candidates from any precision machining environment will be considered.
The role of Production Engineer will include the use and interpretation of engineering drawings for specified components created on PRO-E or CREO 3D modelling software. You will work with the design team to ensure that all proposed drawings transfer comfortably into the manufacturing capability of the business and ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacture (New Product Introduction.)
A strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques is required and an awareness of lean manufacturing tools will be an advantage. A high degree of competency with mathematics and use of Microsoft office based applications will be required. You will need to be a confident and clear communicator as you will be dealing with individuals within the business at all levels.
The Person Required:
* Experienced Production Engineer from a precision component background
* Able to interpret and use 3D CAD modelling software
* Knowledge of manufacturing tools and techniques.
* Have experience of New Product Introduction.
* Live commutable to Ilminster
