Walnuts Residential home provides care for children and young people with a learning disability, complex needs and behaviours that can be deemed as challenging.   

The Walnuts offers short and long term placements for young people that are between 5 and 19 years old.

We are currently looking for a Deputy Care Manager  to work 37 hours per week on a 28 day rolling rota for 52 weeks of the year. 

With a proven experience of working with people who have disabilities, you will need to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service. 

The deputy is responsible for assisting in the management of a team of residential workers, undertaking specific delegated management tasks and areas of responsibility ensuring that staff perform well, and that the needs of the children are met through the development and implementation of their care plans

The deputy will ensure that the quality of care afforded to the young people meets all their safeguarding needs and promotes their well-being and development, making use of relevant HR policies as required.

The deputy will be responsible for leading, motivating and monitoring the practice of the team by undertaking varied shift patterns particularly at weekends and ensuring that the work in the residential home meets all requirements

Walnuts residential home & school share the same location & work in close partnership.

Candidates must be at least 22 years of age, as stipulated in the Children’s Homes Regulations.
