A vacancy now exists for a dynamic manager to oversee and take responsibility for all operations of a 5 bedded young people's residential care home.
Key responsibilities include:
- To assist the Proprietors in the development of a strategic plan for the care home and to implement and co-ordinate the plan thereafter.
- Ensure sound financial planning and budgeting, which identifies priorities and targets for the ensuing year. Thereafter monitor and ensure good review and commentary to the Proprietors on the progress of the financial position.
- To be responsible for leading and managing a team of Residential Childcare workers and support staff, taking full responsibility for managing the establishment, (including the staff, the resources and the fabric of the building) and the welfare of the young people. The post-holder will proactively work with the Proprietors to promote the education, welfare and care of the young people.
- Promote and facilitate the healthy development of the children and young people placed in residential care.
This will include:
- Providing supervision of staff to team members at regular intervals.
- Ensuring with their Senior Care Workers that the reflective culture and therapeutic approach within the team is of a high quality
- Ensuring effective communication is taking place within the team.
- Delegating and supporting Care Workers in their responsibilities.
- Responsibility for the staff to direct day to day care of the young people and to undertake other supportive tasks and duties.
- Leading, chairing and/or participating in staff meetings as required.
- Participating in the On Call Rota to provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues as necessary.
- Acting flexibly, within reasonable bounds to ensure the necessary cover for the home.
- Liaising with external agencies and contributing to child care reviews, children's hearings.
- Implementing the policies of the referring agency and/or the registering authority
- Handling complaints and solving problems within a reasonable time scale as outlined in the complaints procedure.
