Overall purpose of role

The role sits within the "Build the Bank" (BtB) Hyperion Essbase & Planning Developer team. The purpose of this team is to develop, implement, and support various Essbase & Planning applications within the Bank. The selected candidate will be responsible for development, enhancement and, to a lesser extent, support of Hyperion Essbase & Planning applications. The candidate will guide & work alongside other developers & analysts and report to the Hyperion Development Project Manager. The candidate will be a key contact person for development as well as operations team.

Key Accountabilities

Specific accountabilities and time split:

90% of Assignment- Deliver Application development and change
• Deliver changes as per timelines agreed with management and stakeholders
• Develop and test developments on Hyperion Planning (Web forms, Metadata, Rules,..) and Essbase
• Perform peer review of development
• Work with Operational support team to understand the requirements and assess associated effort to requested changes
• Maintain Hyperion artefacts, baselines (version control) and documentation as per the existing control framework
• Proactively engage with operational support team to provide guidance on the use of the product or best practice when considered necessary
• Proactively look for any potential performance degradation following the introduction of a new change and flag the risk accordingly.
• Produce documentation to the required standard of quality and within the constraints of time and service levels

10% of Assignment - Production Support
• Liaise with Hyperion Support L1/L2 team to assist in incidents resolution as per the agreed SLA and incident severity
• Pick up incidents raised against the Planning & Forecasting system (especially Planning & Essbase) that are assigned 3rd line support and work as a point of escalation for business support

Person Specification

Key requirements and capabilities for the role:

• Business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges with the ability to advise implement and apply the right tools/processes to meet these challenges.

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in Hyperion & Planning space.
• Strong knowledge on different types of Essbase Applications like ASO/BSO and using them according to requirement and good understanding on performance tuning for the cube.

• Strong experience in Hyperion Essbase which involves dimension build, data loading, MAXL scripting, Calculation Scripts

• Experience on Application creation (Classic and EPMA) in Planning, and having good understanding on web forms Smart list, task list

• Exposure on metadata migrations

• Basic knowledge in Oracle or SQL Server DB

• Technical background in IT and/or Computer Science Related degree.

• Involvement in automation process of data loading and dimension building using batch scripts, and MAXL Scripts.

• Hands on experience in migration activities using LCM and in security setups using Hyperion Shared services.
• Hands on experience in security setups using Hyperion Shared services and involved in migration activity using LCM
• Very good functional understanding of business and finance viz Budget, Forecast, planning and Data management
• Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle. Well versed with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and various phases and project milestones
