An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Allianz as a Geospatial Analyst in our Technical function with focus in spatial analysis to support our Commercial and Personal insurance accounts.
The Geospatial team are responsible for research and development across Technical in the areas of NatCat management, data enrichment, GIS and peril modelling that inform and enhance our technical and pricing capabilities. The successful candidate will have experience of working in analytical teams and developing a reputation for technical excellence and continuously improving location level intelligence.
Responsibilities include:
- Continuously improve, refine and develop data exploitation, geospatial capability and analytical support to Technical teams.
- Utilise Geospatial techniques to optimise levels of portfolio management throughout Technical
- Work closely with Smart Technology and Analytics teams to deliver Technical innovation
- Peril data development, integration, reporting & exploitation across Technical
- Simulate and model NatCat events and associated claims scenarios
- Market tenders to identify best in class suppliers
- Single point of management / reference for agreed suppliers
- Deliver Geospatial data preparation, data management, analysis, mapping and visualisation capability across the organisation
- Oversee accumulation, bordereau & exposure management processes, data collation and returns across Technical
- Represent Allianz UK at internal / external industry and technology forums
- Ensure data is managed in adherence with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Provide ongoing training and support to Technical and underwriting network
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of GIS software(s), data enrichment, and associated market
- Experience of programming languages - SAS, R, SQL
- An ability to work with large and complex datasets in a dynamic data environment
- Good knowledge of insurance would be desirable but not essential.
Degree Qualified: numerate / geography discipline
