Event Co-ordinator - The Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne are recruiting for an Event Co-ordinator to join our busy Sales Office.

When you join us:


You will be working along side a team who are committed to success and working with clients from all walks of life.
You will be creating event proposals to match client requirements
You will plan and co-ordinate all aspects of events such as seating plans, AV equipment, menus and rooming lists and liaising with various internal departments as well as external suppliers
You can expect to be working on a variety of events including: conferences; exhibitions and fayres; music weekends; private parties; weddings; exclusive tour groups.
You will be responsible for creating your own event programmes for each of your events which must be detailed and accurate
You will need to have a strong knowledge of the hotel and be comfortable in conducting show rounds and selling the benefits and USPs of the Grand
You will be sales focused but with an ability to build a natural rapport with clients in order to create future opportunities for the Elite group.


This is a fixed term contract role until September 2018 to cover Maternity leave. You will be working 35-40 hours per week. Working hours are mainly Monday - Friday 9am-5.30pm however you will be required to work every third Saturday morning, with one midweek afternoon given off in lieu. There may also be some ad-hoc evenings in the form of entertaining clients. Start date: July 2017 Closing date: 26th May 2017

What we need from you:


To have a confident, professional and welcoming personality, with immaculate presentation
To be able to take a pro-active approach to problem solving and challenges and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and confident in using Microsoft Office.
Previous experience in the hotel or events industry essential.
Previous experience in a similar role as Event Co-ordinator would be an advantage.
Knowledge of Opera would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
Self motivation, enthusiasm to learn and the ability to hit the ground running with a smile on your face is essential.
