Do you have a flare for influencing business operations, business processes and driving commercial activities along with steering a comprehensive and modern sales and distribution facility?

Our client is a UK subsidiary of a global far eastern aftermarket consumable manufacturer and is involved in the sales and distribution of “aftermarket products” in the UK and also 38 European countries. The company is currently experiencing 25% year on year growth. Their modern sales and distribution complex is located in Nottinghamshire, ten minutes from Junction 26 of the M1 motorway.

The Role
Reporting directly to the European Managing Director, this is a senior appointment within the company and the successful candidate will hold responsibility for day to day management, decision making and alignment of the management team including forward strategy.
We are looking for a pragmatic leader with the ability to take on complex tasks to ensure maximum operational efficiency throughout their business and maintain their ever-growing supplier status in a challenging and demanding marketplace.

Key function
Responsibility for the company P&L and balance sheet
Impact bottom line by managing budgets, and managing pricing to maximise margin
Implementation and compliance with company standards/guidelines
Key team involvement in creating, cascading and implementing Management strategy
Sales and Key Account Management support for complex and key clients
Contact as required with customers, suppliers other external organisations
Staff mentoring / leading / coaching /discipline

The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will require experience of operating in a general management or senior operational capacity within a sales & distribution business, supplying business to business and possibly B to C, coupled with experience and knowledge of driving business process and operational excellence through the management team.

A few key points which you will need to demonstrate a proven track record in:
Managing and motivating staff within a B to B aftermarket sales and distribution environment
Excellent commercial expertise and aptitude
Knowledge/experience of sales, distribution and logistics principles
Knowledge/experience in Financial Administration and cost control
Knowledge/appreciation of Employment law and health and safety legislation

Excellent organisation and delegation skills
Exceptional motivation qualities both yourself and team members
Resilience and tenacity under pressure

Good negotiation skills
