And as the fifth largest employer in Bath and North East Somerset, we’re really bringing our local talent out on a global scale. And with ever growing student numbers, it’s important for an expansion in our infrastructure and cherished buildings and landscapes. And that’s where you come in.
About the role
Working within Student Services as part of the Student Engagement Team, the main focus of this role is to provide administrative and project support for activities aimed at enhancing student experience. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the team with managing attendance monitoring systems, planning student registration sessions, and organising large and small scale induction events for new students
The University implemented a new automated and dynamic attendance monitoring system at the beginning of the 2016/17 academic year to monitor how students engage with their studies during their time at University. This post will be instrumental in providing support to the team responsible for developing and enhancing this new system. It will also be an opportunity to look at further developments in this area, including learning analytics.
In addition to attendance monitoring, the role involves working with colleagues in the Student engagement Team and across the University to help coordinate registration and Welcome Week induction activities for students.
About you (requirements)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to provide administrative support to the team and excellent customer service to students throughout their time at University. You must have a positive and proactive approach to an ever changing environment whilst possessing excellent administrative and organisational skills. A high level of proficiency in using computer systems is essential as is a flexible and can-do attitude.
You will need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively as you will deal with a wide variety of people, often involving complex scenarios. You’ll have an eye for detail, as accurate working is essential for written communications and for maintaining student records.
