Job Overview:
Our Customers business unit has formed the Data Office and initiated the Data Programme to improve our capabilities in Information Management by creating a new data ecosystem that will house data collated from all parts of Customers into a single data repository and then provide analytical tools for users to access the data from the repository only.

The new Customers Data Office function is being created comprising a team of Data Stewards and a Centre of Excellence team specialising in Data Quality, Data Analytics and Reporting, Data Architecture and Data Integration.

There will be a team of Data Stewards, each of whom will be allocated to improving data within a specific part of business operations. Working with the Lead Data Steward, they are responsible for development and deployment of Customers data standards, practices, processes, and technologies that will improve data quality and enable the provision of new products and services. The Data Stewards will work closely with Data Owners across all parts of the Customers Business, as well as with Data Office and EIT.

The Data Stewards will also operate within a Customers-wide data community (analytics forum, Data Owners, Data Stewards) to deliver against a prioritised Customers Data Improvement plan defined by the Data Office.
Qualifications & Experience:

The role holder must be seen as Business expert within sales/marketing, finance, customer operations or wholesale markets is key for this role
The role holder must be able to engage, influence and translate complex data terminology so it is understood by stakeholders at all levels
The role holder must be capable of encouraging a different mind-set to data through well practiced Influencing skills.
The role holder will continuously look to improve the data we have, identifying the need for change, evaluate and project manage data improvement initiatives
Good understanding of the data and business processes for the respective business unit
Strong communication skills, with the proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and across business units
Sound understanding of the UK energy supply market
Numerate with excellent data analysis skills and the ability to work with large data sets
Experience of delivering business improvement projects
Good organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
Proactive with the ability to work under their own initiative
