PwC's UK and International payroll business is experiencing strong double digit growth thanks to the introduction of Real Time Information and Auto-Enrolment, in recent years, as well as increasing awareness of the costs and risks of complying with ever evolving tax and social security legislation in the UK and beyond.

Whilst our clients range from high net worth individuals and their families, to senior executive teams to multi- national businesses, they all demand the same thing - quality and consistency of service in everything we do.

About the role:
We have a role for an experienced payroll professional to manage our payroll implementation team. You will work with a team of UK and international payroll specialists to implement new client payroll solutions which are delivered through PwC payroll teams in the UK and across the globe.

The key responsibilities of this role include:
Manage a team of UK and International payroll implementation specialistsManage implementation team client portfolios and workflowDesign compliant payroll solutions and oversee transition to the PwC delivery modelProject manage new payroll setups and chair client progress meetingsOversight and control of client deliverables to PwC standardsEscalation point for clients and payroll colleagues from across the PwC networkReport to Senior Management on status of implementation projects and early stage deliveryBe knowledgeable on global mobility and impact on payroll processing in both home/host countryBe familiar with employer tax reporting obligations and work with PwC tax colleagues and clients to implement tax compliance solutions where they are closely connected with payroll eg P11D reportingAdvise payroll colleagues and clients on the correct tax/social security treatment of complex remuneration eg share's, Restricted Stock Unit's, overseas payments, trailing bonuses and pensionsIntroducing new procedures to improve first time payroll accuracy and efficiencyKeep up to date with payroll legislative changes as well as any other changes affecting payroll processing, for example pension auto-enrolment, apprenticeship levy, pay rolling benefits etcDealing with client queries, remediation and hosting client calls/meetingsSupport team recruitment and continued developmentWork as part of the middle management team in supporting business growth and delivering our business strategyWork with payroll and tax experts across the globe

Requirements
The Individual:

Skills and experience:
Signicant experience in processing complex payrollsSolid working experience in a manager role is essentialA professional payroll or tax qualification eg CIPP diploma or ATTRecent relevant experience with implementing payroll and/or employer tax solutionsManaged at least several successful large scale payroll implementationsFlexibility and good team working skillsThe ability to travel occasionally is desirableStrong in both written and verbal communicationsDrive and determinationGood customer service skills and comfortable in a client facing environmentVery highly organisedStrong IT skills and can adapt quickly to working with new technologies
