I am currently working with an market leader in Industrial Electronics that is currently woThe Test Equipment / Support Engineer will be a member of the Test Engineering Group, a team within the Engineering department. The ideal candidate should be prepared to take full responsibility for the support, repair and improvement of a diverse range of electronic test equipment.
We are seeking a motivated, technically-minded, professional support engineer who is looking for increased responsibility and the challenge of working with state of the art test equipment and software. Appropriate formal and ''on the job'' training will be provided, as well as consultation and mentoring by the group's Lead Engineers. The successful applicant will have significant experience working in a similar support role and will be encouraged to define and manage the support workload of a busy electronics manufacturing and test facility.
The Test Equipment / Support Engineer will be responsible for: -
- Technical support of the company's range of automatic board test systems
- Technical support of company's range of specialised ''final'' test equipment
- Modification, repair and improvement of specialised computer-controlled test sets
- Monitoring test-related data in order to predict and prevent unexpected breakdowns
- Identification and implementation of continuous improvements to the test solutions already in place
- Implementation of test-related engineering change documents (ECDs)
- Devising and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for existing test equipment
- Definition and acquisition of key spare parts for test equipment
- Assisting with commissioning and release of PCA test fixtures and software as required
- Modification of existing test programs for both PCAs and higher level assemblies
Academic Qualifications.
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- (Electronics Diploma + demonstrated ability and experience may also qualify)
Practical Experience.
- 3-5 years of similar experience in a Production Test environment
- Relevant experience supporting Agilent HP3070 or similar automated board test systems.
- Experienced in supporting, maintaining and repairing specialised test equipment / test rigs
- Ability to program and debug Agilent HP3070 (or similar) tests and software
- Ability to write (or learn) test software / programs using VB6, VB.NET, C etc.
- Strong knowledge of electronics theory and some knowledge of electronics design (key requirements)
- Ability to read and work from electronic schematics and system diagrams
Personal Characteristics
- Outgoing personality and ability to identify improvements and effect change.
- Good team working ability and interpersonal communications skills.
- Flexibility to perform multiple roles in a small company environment.
- Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and learn from it
