Are you a confident, resourceful communications all-rounder, with excellent writing skills and creative flair?
If so, you may be a perfect fit for our newly created Communications Manager role. This is a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week.
We are the Local Medical Committee, a specialist organisation whose role is to represent and support GPs. Our work involves working closely with GP practices, Clinical Commissioning Groups, NHS England and NHS Trusts. Our Communications Manager will lead on providing information and resources across all media for each of these audiences.
Above all, you will be able to write clear, convincing copy which effectively summarises complex information. Therefore attention to detail and accuracy will be key attributes. You will have a knack for understanding ‘what works' for different audiences whilst providing a consistent message that reinforces the LMC brand as the local voice for general practice.
In addition to developing and implementing our communications strategy, you will produce publications, manage our social media and website and take responsibility for event and information management. Knowledge of primary care or previous experience of working in health would be helpful. You will be confident, resourceful and more interested in getting the job done than talking about it.
The post will initially be on a 12 month fixed term contract with a view to becoming permanent at the end of the year subject to availability of funding and strategic fit of the role within our new organisational structure.
We are a small, friendly team based in lovely offices in Willerby and offer excellent terms and conditions, the details of which are set out in our Application Pack which also contains the Job Description and Person Specification.
For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Amalia Booker, Director of Operations on 01482 655111.
To apply, please email your CV plus a separate statement which clearly outlines how you meet the person specification and any experience relevant to the job description to humberside.lmcgroup@nhs.net
Please note that we not consider applications that only contain a CV and are not supported by an additional statement specific to this role.
The closing date is Monday 22 May 2017 at 12.00 noon.
