Quantity Surveyor - Permanent

Locations: ideally live in or near; Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton, Cambridge, St Neots, Bedford, Northampton, Letchworth.
Basic Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP80,000 + Benefits. A fantastic opportunity with a dynamic growing company.
Client
A subcontracting company who undertake Civils and Groundworks projects across the UK on behalf of primary contractors. Examples of projects include; Schools, leisure facilities, factories, commercial buildings and housing.
Job requirements
As a Quantity surveyor you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring there is effective cost management of the project through regular and accurate forecasting and cost/value reporting.
- Lead and manage the procurement process to maximise profit and ensure subcontract orders are placed on time and in accordance with the company policy (including references taken, suitable levels of HSEQ etc.)
- Monitor and maximise cash flow.
- Support, advise, develop and train all members of the site team on commercial matters.
- Be aware of the contractual requirements of the project, advise the site team on key requirements and ensure that all notices and other matters are actioned accordingly to protect contractual position (main, sub-contracts and consultancy agreements)
- Act and ensure others are acting in the clients best commercial interests at all times.
- To act professionally at all times and promote the company's best standards and practices
- Monitor and chase main contractor payments
Candidate requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
- Degree Qualified (or equivalent) in quantity surveying
- Self-starter able to work autonomously
- Team Leader
- Business Awareness
- Knowledge and understanding of construction management, construction and sustainable construction techniques
- Experience in NEC & JCT contracts
- Previous experience working on Civil Engineering/Groundworks projects
