Engineering Materials Manager/ Engineering Buyer - GBP30-35K - Taunton
My client is an award winning food producer with multiple sites across the UK. They are looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Materials Manager / Engineering Buyer. You will report directly into the Head of Engineering services and be responsible for the management of materials, procurement and systems & process functions. The ideal candidate will have Engineering Materials Management / Buying / Procurement experience gained from previously working in the FMCG or Food & Drink sector.
Key Responsibilities will include:
??Management of stores inventories - into new group standard system
??Identifying price variances between common items on the 3 sites.
??Optimising delivery from suppliers to sites, including holding critical spares for each company.
??Negotiation of local and group deals to benefit the engineering function across the company's 3 sites.
??Identifying inefficiencies between the sites engineering departments buying procedures and implementing best practices.
??COSHH assessor; maintaining a weekly review of all substances within the department
??Scheduling of all planned maintenance work orders
??Monitoring trends of planned preventative maintenance and key performance indicators to pre-empt machinery failure/anticipated downtime and offer advice to engineering shift managers on how to resolve
??Placement of orders through company's MRP software
??Ownership of all stock/non-stock procurement to make sure it s within the departmental budget constraints; Monitor spend trends and Produce reports
??Authorising invoices to agreed values investigating invoice/order variances
??Managing/negotiating all departmental contracts and renewing when required
??Taking a lead role in the setup of the new Computerised Maintenance Management system (CMMS)
Person Specification:
??Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards qualification to level 2 or higher.
??Use of MRP systems in an manufacturing / engineering department
??Management experience
??Contract Negotiation essential and supply chain management desirable.
??Implementing systems and process
This role is a Monday-Friday 08:00-16:30 role with an excellent benefits package including a salary of GBP30-GBP35k DOE, free car parking, canteen, staff shop, pension, benefits package, 30 days holiday and will suit a candidate who has previously worked as a Materials Manager, Engineering Buyer, Engineering procurement, Supply chain manager
