Business Intelligence Analyst

Would you like a role that enables you to gain excellent exposure across a FTSE-100 defence company? We currently have a vacancy at BAE Systems for a Business Intelligence Analyst at our site in Farnborough.

The Business Intelligence (BI) team is a small but high profile team working in the Regional Operations area of Group Business Development (GBD). The work and demands on the BI team are split between supporting the wider GBD department, as well as other Head Office functions such as Group Strategy & Planning, and working with business units across the corporation.

Join us as a Business Intelligence Analyst and you'll be working with a number of key internal stakeholders, providing you with the opportunity to grow your network and widely demonstrate your skills.


Your main responsibilities as a Business Intelligence Analyst will involve:

Creating and supporting the BI team in creating compelling, actionable market and campaign intelligence

Gathering and assessing information from a wide range of sources, internal and external, to support the production of analytical reports for internal customers to better inform them of the competitive and market environment


Your skills and qualifications as a Business Intelligence Analyst must include:



Degree qualified with excellent research and analytical skills and/or with relevant experience of market intelligence activities that support business winning


Keen interest in and knowledge of the defence, political and economic global landscape, and international relations


Understanding of the strategy and priorities of BAE Systems and how this role supports the delivery of these goals


Able to work independently and/or within small teams


Adept at multi-tasking in a very diverse range of activities


Highly detail oriented with the drive to perform involved research projects


Good PowerPoint and Excel skills


Knowledge of open source and web-based research techniques

You will have the drive and tenacity to seek out all sources of relevant material for reports, cutting through the complexity to establish the core issues. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively build relationships and work collaboratively with others.
