Solaris Administrator/Oracle Technologies Engineer

Required - an experienced Solaris Systems Administrator or Oracle Technologies Systems Engineer with 5+ years experience.

The successful Solaris Administrator will be required to work alongside in-house DBA's at the Offices campus.
You will implement technical strategies aligned to business need.
You will maintain consistently good system performance with minimal disruption to users.
You will implement change in a controlled manner and maintain data integrity.
You will resolve problems and recover situations in line with agreed service levels.
You will plan for the availability of sufficient resources and avoid obsolescence.

The Solaris Administrator will have skills in the following areas:
Technical Architecture
Technical Documentation
Capacity Planning
Risk Assessment
Backup & Restore
System Performance Monitoring
Fault Diagnosis
Tuning

The Solaris Administrator will have the following technical skills:
Oracle Solaris 11 (at OCP level, if not OCP qualified)
Oracle Virtual Server for SPARC (aka Logical Domains Manager)
ZFS Appliance (configuring, monitoring, upgrading)
ZFS storage concepts (including the use of thin provisioning)
Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center (configuring, maintaining, upgrading, setting up alerting)
Managing multiple Logical Domains across multiple Servers as a cluster' (using Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center) and on the command line.
Direct NFS

Desirable Technical Skills:
CUPS
Migrating print queues from Solaris 10 LP service to Solaris 11 CUPS
Tivoli Storage Manager
Oracle Linux (need to find version)
Managing and supporting Exalytics hardware (firmware upgrades etc.)
Any local authority/public sector experience
Any relevant qualifications held or being studied for
