Scottish Autism is an organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of people with autism. We are now seeking an Autism Support Worker to join our team at New Struan School in Alloa. 

New Struan School, part of Scottish Autism, has been leading the way in the delivery of specialist education for children and young people with autism for over 35 years. As an Autism Support Worker, you will have the chance to contribute towards our vision of enabling our pupils to become included, confident learners in the community.

With a number of shift patterns on offer, including part-time work, weekend work and night-time support, you will find that you can fit your other commitments around a career with us. This role offers a challenge and isn’t your average desk based, office job, you will be supported through qualifications and will be enabled to attain your PVG membership prior to commencing your role. 

What will you be doing? 

On a day-to-day basis, as an Autism Support Worker, you will work within our school environment directly with children with autism. 

Specifically, your role will involve: 

- Making a positive impact on peoples’ lives 
- Providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals with autism 
- Using your skills and talents to enrich peoples’ lives and help them to achieve their goals 
- Empowering individuals to develop their talents 
- Enabling individuals with Autism to engage with their local communities 

About You 

To be considered you will not need any prior experience as full, in-depth training will be provided, however we are looking for people who share our values. As such, you will need:

- Flexibility – we need staff who can work flexibly over 7 days

The working hours for this role are flexible with day shifts running from 7.30am – 3.30pm, back shifts from 2.30pm – 10.45pm and sleepovers running from 11pm – 7.30am. There is a mixture of days shifts and back shift available across all seven days.
