Senior Prototype Technician
Newport

IntaPeople are currently recruiting on behalf of a market leading manufacturer in the Newport area. They are looking for an ambitious Prototype Technician to join them. You will be responsible for prototype builds, putting together reports and preparing samples for testing.
Skills required
- Ability to lead project through to completion
- Experience as a fitter
- Ideally time served apprentice
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Programming experience an advantage (PLC etc)
- Welding skills (TIG/MIG/Arc)
- Experience working with low gauge materials (stainless steel .4mm etc)
- Able to read engineering drawings
- Good computer literacy
Role duties
- Supervise prototype build activities and assist technicians
- Create cost effective prototype assemblies build plan
- Take ownership of build timing plan
- Ensure quality of prototype parts delivered to customer
- Continually improve design and processes
- Maintenance of test rigs and workshop
- Control storage and use of materials for prototype
- Carry out prototype builds and build test samples and systems
- Ensure that maintenance activities are delivered effectively and minimising lost time due to breakdowns
