An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estate Facilities Section for a Senior Audio Visual Technician. Working as part of the University's dedicated AV team, you will provide support for the AV equipment located in lecture theatres and teaching spaces across a number of University sites.
The role will involve first line technical support for teaching, conferences and
special events, as well as the installation, commissioning and routine maintenance of multimedia and audio visual equipment including data projectors, PA systems, microphones and AV control switchers. In addition you will be involved with the team's video production and live streaming services.
Ideally the successful candidate will have worked in a technical support role and hold a relevant technical or media qualification, although some training can be given to the right candidate. Equivalent experience from an electronics or creative media background will also be considered. You will need to be IT literate and able to think on your feet and use your initiative to solve technical problems. The ability to impart technical information in lay terms is essential.
You will need a degree of flexibility, as occasional evening and weekend work will be required, which is payable as overtime or time off in lieu.
