Systems Engineer / DVP Engineer

Our Client; a Globally operating Tier 1 Automotive company that specializes in the supply and manufacture of high technology electrical and electronic components, supplying most of the major Automotive OEM's, are enjoying continued growth in terms of new projects. Given this rise in new business, their task now is to find 2 experienced Systems Engineers / DVP Engineers on a permanent basis who can join their Electrical Distribution Systems Engineering department. Offering a competitive (albeit negotiable and dependent upon relevant experience) basic salary, together with a full and comprehensive benefits package, these are roles that are available immediately.

Reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader, these roles will involve the following;
-Creating concept proposals and developing the designs of the products to support and advise the customer, other affiliates and/or the engineering departments.
-Investigating and making Wiring Harness design proposals based on customer's information.
-Participating in VA/VE activities, FMEA etc and evaluating Wiring Harness products and car assembly.
-Circuit development based both at the customer site and onsite at my client.
-Systems and Complexity development.

In detail;
*Circuit Design
-Collecting and checking electrical systems information.
-As part of the circuit team, at the customer and at my client, creating engineering data to support the creation of Harness drawings.
-Investigating the incorporation of new circuitry into existing EDS systems.
-Investigating and creating systems proposals.
-Preparing mark-up drawings for electrical schematics and engineering change documentation using customer and client systems.

*Complexity Development
-Study any complexity effects of proposed or given design changes, internally or from the customer.
-Preparing complexity reduction proposals based on system cost, option usage, harness production etc.
-Establishing internal and customer related release documentation.
-Developing Complexity to meet KSK (customer specific Harness design) requirements.

*Design Verification
-Support prototype builds or test boarding.
-Support Design Verification Process
-Inch by inch reviews and reports.

*General EDS Design
-Support prototype build with information and recommendations.
-Participate in VA/VE activities.
-Participate in benchmarking activity.
-Support new business related activities.
-Develop new ideas applicable to current and future programs.
-Develop new tools to improve working efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience ideally required:
-Should ideally be educated to Degree level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, although lesser qualifications with plenty of relevant experience may also be considered.
-In terms of experience, you should ideally have previously worked as a Systems Engineer / DVP Engineer or similar within an Automotive manufacturing environment (Tier 1 or OEM); although those that have worked within a similar aligned manufacturing industry and have Wiring Harness knowledge may also be considered.
-Should ideally have experience of Wiring Harness / Wiring Loom / EDS (Electrical Distribution Systems).
-Should ideally have Wiring Harness CAD knowledge and/or 3D CAD knowledge and understand Electrical Schematics.
-Should be experienced in Test and Evaluation methodology, understand Quality and Reliability methodology (FMEA, QFD etc), have knowledge of System Tools (CHS, CapH etc), Simulation Tools (Vesys, Saber etc) and Project Management.
-Should be prepared on occasion to travel nationally and internationally, be legally able to work in the UK and have a valid driving licence and passport.
