Relationship Manager

As a Barclays Relationship Manager (RM), you will be responsible in managing and growing a portfolio of clients. The RM will be expected to deliver exceptional sales and business performance whilst maintaining sound risk management and building and maintaining highly proactive, long-term, internal and external business relationships. Through pro-active business development the RM will grow and develop a relationship with clients and key stakeholders generating sustained revenue by becoming a "trusted advisor".

As a Relationship Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:
• Identifying and providing solutions to a wide range of client plans and react to and develop new opportunities from client contacts
• Ensuring appropriate provision of products and services both directly and via product specialists
• Maintaining regular, proactive contact and rapid reaction to client approaches, retaining existing revenue streams, and generating new opportunities ensuring delivery against agreed business plans
• Entering accurate and relevant client data into the appropriate systems and using effective questioning and listening techniques to confidentially identify and offer solutions to meet customer needs
• Constructing credit proposals including risk analysis and mitigation for sanction by specialist team and ensuring conformity with global and market standards
• Maintaining knowledge of all legal and regulatory requirements and compliance policies, ensuring adherence to all such standards, to avoid exposing the business to undue risk

As a Relationship Manager, your skills and qualifications will include:
• Previous experience in delivering high quality client portfolio management, with the ability to identity and manage a range of client solutions
• Proficient in technical competencies such as profit orientation and business awareness with a client focus
• Being relationship-orientated, with the ability to exert commercial negotiation and influencing skills. An understanding of the importance of exceptional client relationships and communication is required
• Previous financial services experience, with an understanding of the need to operate within high risk and regulatory standards
• A strong knowledge of global and local economic and political conditions, current affairs and competitor activity and the implication of these on our clients
• Financial qualifications preferred, with experience in and an understanding of operating to the highest standards expected by the UK financial conduct authority
