One of the world's leading food manufacturing companies is looking for a Process Development Technologist to join their team. Based in Essex, this particular site is a leading supplier of chilled and frozen prepared meals to the healthcare market.
The Role:
Requires a hands-on attitude as 80% of the role is factory based, and the remaining 20% being office/data
To work as part of the Planning and Process team to assist in the consistent approach of the development and evaluation of new & existing recipes, ensuring correct methods and yield information are in place.
Working with the Planning and Process team, NPD and other departments to ensure that existing recipes are developed in a consistent manner.
Analyse and maintain data on the relevant spreadsheets.
Managing both existing recipes and data from trials including keeping it up to date (live) and communicating any shortfalls accordingly to relevant departments.
Implement amendments to new and existing products in accordance with feedback from customers or practice exercises during trials.
Plan and organise resources to achieve the day to day delivery of trials etc. In-line with Project timescales and customer requirements.
To operate in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety and the environment.
Ensure that all food safety standards are met, observed and adhered to at all times.
The Candidate:
Must have a food science degree or have a good food technology background
Familiarity with and willingness to work in a "hands-on" environment
Must have a culinary (rather than beverage) background
Understanding of process mapping of food products
Experience in understanding and analysing data
Intermediate to advanced level in Excel
Good organisation skills
The ability to work as part of a team
Good attention to detail and to record information accurately
