Materials Planner

Position: Materials Planner
Location: Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire
Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Contract: 6 Month Maternity Cover (With View to Becoming Permanent)

The Materials Planner Role:
The main purpose of this Materials Planner role is to maintain and manage the production / manufacturing schedules and procurement of 3^rd party materials and services via MRP system.

You will create, control and maintain inventory levels for materials, direct consumables and made in house or purchased SKU (propose and agree with the business).

Key Responsibilities of the Materials Planner:

• Ensure that the sales and service log is kept up to date
• Provide work order comparisons to finance and stores for every system build in a timely manner
• Run MPS/MRP on a daily basis
• Hold / attend regular project / sales / service review meetings
• Generate manufacture orders / works orders via the MRP system
• Generate warehouse pick-lists & service/sales pick lists
• Respond to queries / issues and review activities to drive continuous improvements
• Provide data re impact of changes to Sales / authorised business plan / SKU policy
• Ensure BOM data is maintained identifying source, process route and or lead-time
• Ensure Purchased items are identified and MRP master data secured with the Procurement function
• Manage BOM / Engineering Changes re implementation point in collaboration with business management, engineering/design, manufacturing and procurement functions
• Provide status re material availability against project timescales and update business system Master Data

Skills & Experience Required:

• This role is very administrative so would suit a highly organised individual with a strong administrative background
• Basic experience in Sales, Inventory and Operations planning
• Proven ability to work well with others at all organisational levels
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP processes (ideally Navision)
• Microsoft Excel (Formulas)
