About the Job:
The client requires a competent and rounded Senior Systems Engineer to design and develop the Information Management System. The candidate should be experienced in modern database technologies, Model Based Systems Engineering, and familiar with Tactical C4i systems. They will be familiar with producing candidate designs, conducting trade studies, working within design constraints and adapting COTS to operate in the tactical domain You will be required to show expertise in the following:
Requirements Analysis
System Design and Model Based Systems Engineering
Working with defined standards
Defining and conducting trade studies
Performing make / buy analysis
Authoring of high quality
About You:
To be the right fit for this Senior Systems Engineer job, you will have experience of will have good understanding and experience in designing information based systems. Knowledge of the Bowman system and tactical domain experience is useful. Technologies that must be understood include:
Relational and NoSQL databases
Database replication technologies
Canonical Data Model design pattern
Data Modelling techniques
JSON & XML
You will be educated a BEng / BS Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar and will be able to demonstrate significant competence and experience practicing as a Systems Engineer along with working to MOD standards.
In addition the following skills and experience are desirable:
Tactical / impaired / disadvantaged networking
Knowledge of UDP / TCP
RESTful web services
Agile working practices (SAFe, Scrum)
Model Based Systems Engineering using SysML
Knowledge of commercial IT architectures and technologies
