STEM Lecturer

Northumberland College has two main campuses at Ashington and Kirkley Hall and centres at Hexham and Berwick.

We offer hundreds of full-time and part-time courses, work with full-time students aged 14-18, full-time adult learners returning to learning, learners on part-time, work-based and apprenticeship programmes as well as higher education students working up to BA (Hons) level.

Our new GBP2.5 million state of the art STEM centre will open in Sept 2017 encompassing dedicated facilities and cutting edge technologies offering unique opportunities and real experience to develop the high level skills our region requires. Exciting opportunities are now available to join our specialist STEM team in this innovative new centre.

Post-holders will be required to develop, support and enable high quality teaching and learning experiences which motivate and enthuse learners enabling them to evolve high level skills, achieve aspirational targets and connect with real projects and employers. Successful applicants will have excellent STEM sector knowledge preferably with experience of applying this within industry. You will need a good understanding of developments and innovation within the STEM sector and FE and need to be committed to active learning with an ability to support learners to overcome barriers to learning enabling them to succeed and achieve.
