Afternoon Cook/ Chef - 12 noon 8pm Wednesday- Sunday (37.5 hours per week)

Servest are recruiting for a contract catering Chef/ Cook to be based within a flagship Distribution Centre in Reading to oversee the afternoon shifts from Wednesday to Sunday (Monday and Tuesday off) Ideally you will be flexible with shift times as there may be earlier starts and later finishes (contracted hours 37.5 per week)

About the role;

The position is working Wednesday to Sunday 12 noon -8pm (12:00-20:00)

You will be used to volume cooking (100-150 covers) using fresh seasonal ingredients.

Your main role is to ensure menu items are prepared and presented to a high standard and served in a timely mannner. You will oversee the nights food production and service, assist with the food preparation for the next day, assist with service and the cleaning of the kitchen.

You will assist the manager and day chefs in menu planning, costing's, ordering, stock control and monitoring wastage

We are looking for a Chef/Cook with the following;

Ideally a background within business and industry contract catering- catering for up to 150

Qualifications 706 1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent not essential but desirable

To be able to work under pressure to prepare quality fresh food to agreed specifications

Good working practices and a positive attitude

Good sound Knowledge of health and safety and food safety

Excellent communication and customer service skills – as you will be interacting with the customers base and onsite client

A real passion for food and service, with the ability to prepare and cook good quality seasonal food.
